FOR FAMILIES IN THE UK
A little adventure for your next park walk
From a walk in the park to a rainy afternoon at home, discover playful ways to notice nature, practise new words and count together.
Explore together
Look for three different leaf shapes with a grown-up. Compare their colours, count the points and describe what feels smooth or bumpy. Leave plants where they grow and wash your hands afterwards.
Keep the story going
On a rainy day, draw the leaves you remember. Ask your child to tell you about their favourite discovery, then make up a short story about Toby exploring the park.
Use these ideas at home, in a nursery or in a reception setting, adapting the language and pace to each child.

Rooted in early learning.
Ivan Explorer is led by Ms Irina, an Early Years & Montessori Teacher, ELKLAN-qualified practitioner and ELKLAN Tutor, with a special interest in children’s early speech, language and communication.
Her experience shapes adventures that encourage children to listen, talk, think and learn through play. Alongside Ivan and his curious best friend Toby, learning becomes part of the story.

Ivan Explorer – Discovery Kids brings together adventure stories and early learning for children aged 3–7.
Who are Ivan and Toby?
Ivan is our young explorer. Toby the Leopard is his curious best friend. Together, they invite children to look, listen, count, talk and discover the world through play.
What can children learn with Ivan Explorer?
Adventures introduce animals and nature, numbers and counting, colours and shapes, early vocabulary and literacy. They encourage observation, listening, problem-solving and participation.
Who leads the educational approach?
Ms Irina leads Ivan Explorer. She is an Early Years & Montessori Teacher, an ELKLAN-qualified practitioner and an ELKLAN Tutor, with a special interest in early speech, language and communication.
Where can we watch the adventures?
Visit the Ivan Explorer YouTube channel. A parent or carer can watch alongside their child, pause to talk and try activities together.
Are printable activities and the app available?
Printable activities are coming soon, and the Ivan Explorer app is in development. Downloads and access details will be added when they are ready.
